If you take advantage of the nightlife in Liechtenstein, you might want a place to crash that isn’t across a country border, despite that border being incredibly close.
There are more options available than you may think, even some affordable ones in a country that’s not really budget-travel forward. Although you can always search for your perfect hotel, the following are some options that might help you get started.
- Budget: Schaan-Vaduz Youth Hostel

Take 5 Club-Lounge
If you’re looking for centrally located bars in Liechtenstein, Take 5 is a prime option. This super cute pub is located in the heart of the capital city, Vaduz, and has a modern but cozy atmosphere. It’s not too large but also not too small… 300 sq. meters (about 3,000 sq. feet).
If you like to play games while drinking, this is the place. It has pool tables, darts, table soccer, and even pinball machines. Also, it’s super casual here, so don’t worry about dressing up unless you want to. The prices are reasonable for pretty much everything, and their music playlist is straight-up 90s hits. Talk about a millennial’s paradise!
If you’re ever in Vaduz, this is the perfect place to chill out after a day of adventuring.

St. Martins Pub am Platz
Also known as PAP, this cozy bar in Liechtenstein has an indoor and outdoor area. Seven varieties of fresh beer are on tap, and plenty of bottled beer, with or without alcohol, is available. A cool feature of this bar is that they tap a new regional beer every seventh of the month.
Don’t worryโthey also have a full cocktail list if you’re not a beer drinker. If you decide to drive here, they have parking in an underground lot and also include spaces for bicycles. One thing you should note about this bar is that you’ll probably need a reservation. So, if you decide to go, just make sure to call beforehand.
Black Pearl Bar
The Black Pearl is the ideal place to enjoy a stylish evening with friends in a cozy atmosphere. The menu features unique drinks, cocktails, and a wide selection of cigars.
The music playlist is varied, so you’ll get either modern or classic tunes. There are also special events on certain evenings. The ambiance of this place is pretty cool… I’d say sophisticated glam blended with classic speakeasy vibes. It’s definitely a place where you can capture tons of aesthetic content. Even the drinks are beautiful!
This is a bar where you definitely want to wear your best “night-on-the-town” clothes.
WY Weinbar
WY Weinbar is where you want to be if you’re a wine lover. This bar has won numerous awards for its wine list, including a Certificate of Excellence. I’m not exaggerating when I say they have a TON of wine options to choose fromโover 1,700, to be exact. Their vaulted wine cellar was built in 1696, giving the wine bar a charm that can’t be found anywhere else in the region.
They also have a food menu with items that complement their wine selection. This bar has a distinguished feel and casual atmosphere, but you’ll definitely need to make a reservation before you go.
PUR – Restaurant & Bar
Okay, so this place is technically a barbecue restaurant with a bar. PUR is probably the most upscale BBQ place I’ve ever seen, and the prices make sense.
They have a full bar, but the mind-blowing food is the real draw. The charcuterie boards are UNREAL, and there are incredible burgers, salads, plates of pasta, wraps, and more. Sometimes, they’ll have live musical performances to add to the overall ambiance.
If you love good eats and drinks, you’ll want to add this place to your list while in Liechtenstein.
Cafรฉ Bistro Bar “Viva”
The cool thing about bars in Liechtenstein is that no one is like another. Viva is a great example of this. It’s a neon playground that has a feel-good, club-like ambiance. Their menu features wine, beer, cocktails, coffee, tea, well-drinks, and food options.
A cool feature of the drink menu is that they boast their house Pinot from Halda in Triesen. Their wine is matured in barrels, and the selection changes monthly. The food menu includes options like paninis, tarte flambรฉe, beef fillet, and beef tartare. Live the good life at Viva!
Floor Four
I love a good rooftop bar – check out my picks in Hong Kong, Barcelona, and Glasgow.
Floor Four is quite literal with its name as they are located on the fourth floor of the Grand Casino Liechtenstein. The interior is decorated in dark brown tones, reminiscent of an English-style gentleman’s room. The roof terrace has a priceless panoramic view of the Liechtenstein and the Swiss mountains.
When it’s warm outside, you can chill on the lounge furniture surrounded by tropical plants while sipping your beverage of choice. They have an exclusive assortment of whisky, gin, rum, and various cigars. They also let people rent out the space for special events.
Sky Bar
If you’re looking for a special rooftop bar at a height of 22 meters (72 feet), then Sky Bar should be your first choice. Enjoy a sunset on a stylish terrace with a view of the beautiful mountains in the Rhine Valley.
The menu features delicious tapas and diverse drinks. On weekends, the bar becomes a dance club with a DJ where you can dance the night away. It’s a great place to meet locals and travelers alike while you enjoy the epic views. This bar also has an ice cream menu to satisfy your sweet tooth.
While technically in Switzerland, Sky Bar is right over the border from Liechtenstein and totally worth a stop.
Falken Biergarten Bar & Pub
Because Liechtenstein has German influences, it’s no surprise that there’s a biergarten nearby. Falken Biergarten has table football and darts, and the dining tables are surrounded by trees that provide a natural ambiance.
They host live events and game nights, and the menu is flush with various beers and food. The food at Falken Biergarten is SO good, especially the iconic massive pretzels with beer-cheese. Many of the drinks here are local, so you can truly immerse yourself in the culture of this beautiful region.
This place is also in Switzerland on the Liechtenstein border and is literally a hop, skip, and jump away from Sky Bar (or a 30-minute walk), so “while in Rome,” right?
