Rooftop Bars in Barcelona: 7 Must-Visit Skyline Sensations

Ohla Barcelona Rooftop

  • Price Range: $$$$
  • Location: Central Barcelona
  • Address: Via Laietana, 49, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Are you looking for panoramic views of Barcelona topped off with top-tier tapas dishes? Then this is the spot for you.

This bar sits atop the 5-star Hotel Ohla Barcelona and features sundowners, lounge areas, front-row bar stools, and a glass-walled rooftop pool. I’m not sure I want people to watch me swimming awkwardly underwater, but if that’s your thing (and you’re a guest at the hotel), I won’t knock it.

The on-site tapas restaurant is La Plassohla and is run by Chef Romain Fornell, who holds multiple Michelin stars. If you want luxury blended with panoramic sunset views of the city, make a reservation here ASAP.

Zity Bar at Hotel Novotel Barcelona City

  • Price Range: $$$$
  • Location: Placa De Les Glories Catalanes
  • Address: Av. Diagonal, 201, Sant Martí, 08018 Barcelona, Spain

Have you ever wanted to touch heaven without the obvious lousy part? Zity Bar is one of the highest rooftop bars in Barcelona, on the 19th floor of Novotel Barcelona City, so you can do that here. The epic views from Zity Bar extend across the entire city to the Mediterranean Sea.

This bar is large but has minimal furnishings and a miniature zen garden. You can visit any time throughout the day, but it’s best to go to catch the Torre Agbar lighting up at night. This is a top location if you like your drinks with a side of head-spinning heights.

Hotel Arts Barcelona

  • Price Range: $$$$
  • Location: Port Olimpic
  • Address: Carrer de la Marina, 19-21, Ciutat Vella, 08005 Barcelona, Spain

Okay, so this might not be a sky-high bar, but it’s still a rooftop and an awesome one at that. Hotel Arts Barcelona has a multi-level rooftop garden featuring unreal Mediterranean views and an infinity pool. It’s located at one of the best hotels in Barcelona, where celebrities are often spotted during their stay.

It’s one of the most exclusive rooftop bars in Barcelona. If you’re not staying at the hotel, you can still come here to enjoy the infinity pool and lounge by purchasing a day pass or booking a treatment at the spa. I don’t care what anyone says; sunsets and cocktails are always the perfect combo, even if you have limited access.

If you want the whole experience, I’d recommend booking a stay at the hotel.

La Terrassa at Villa Emilia

  • Price Range: $$$
  • Location: Rocafort
  • Address: C. de Calabria, 115, Eixample, 08015 Barcelona, Spain

Being the queen of hidden gems, I had to include this bar. La Terrassa at Hotel Villa Emilia has a more casual vibe than other rooftop bars in Barcelona, and it’s also super intimate.

Enjoy cocktails, tapas, and live music throughout the day. The best days to visit are Thursdays and Saturdays for BBQ nights at the terrace. If you’re a gin lover, this place has over 20 premium gins to get ginny with it.

The views here are limited, but it’s worth a visit based on the atmosphere alone. It’s an absolute hidden paradise above the busy city of Barcelona.

Terrace of Sercotel Rosellón

  • Price Range: $$$
  • Location: Eixample
  • Address: C/ del Rosselló, 390, L’Eixample, 08025 Barcelona, Spain

Want to check out the Sagrada Familia without waiting in those epic lines? How do 360-degree views of Barcelona sound? You can get all that and more when you visit the Terrace of Sercotel Rosellón.

With a close-up of Gaudi’s architectural masterpiece being this rooftop bar’s number one selling point, it’s no wonder they take their reservations seriously. To start, non-hotel guests are charged a €5 per person fee and are limited to spending 1 hour and 15 minutes. Reservations are only open for the next seven days at a time, and they reserve the right to request you change your reservation for a list of reasons.

So, make your reservations for the first days of your Barcelona trip if you want to experience the epic views from this terrace, just in case they get pushed back!

The terrace is quite simple, with wooden decks and an open-air design, but who cares when you have a front-row seat to the Sagrada Familia? As a bonus, the terrace also features a Jacuzzi with sun loungers. This bar also offers snacks throughout the day.

The Pulitzer Terrace at Hotel Pulitzer

  • Price Range: $$$
  • Location: Plaza Cataluna
  • Address: C/ de Bergara, 10, L’Eixample, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

If music is just as important to you as delicious food and libations, then Terraza at Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona should be on your list. The sixth-floor view isn’t the best in the city, but the atmosphere, drinks, and music make up for it. The Hotel Pulitzer is right next to Plaza Cataluna – a great spot to hit for dinner, drinks, and entertainment after exploring central Barcelona.

This is one of the only rooftop bars in Barcelona that features live music five days a week with theme nights. Wednesdays feature pop, electronic, and funk, while well-known DJs spin live Thursday through Sunday. So, after a filling dinner and a couple of their signature cocktails, you’ll cut a rug in no time!

For dinner, the menu features a variety of dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world. It includes things from tapas and small bites to charcuterie boards and burgers. This rooftop bar has it all, minus the gorgeous view.

La Terraza BCN Urban Club

  • Price Range: $$
  • Location: Sants-Monjuïc
  • Address: C/ de Mallorca, 1, Sants-Montjuïc, 08014 Barcelona, Spain

This rooftop bar is one of the better-kept secrets in Barcelona proper. Located at the Expo Hotel Barcelona, La Terraza BCN Urban Club is a vibrant and dynamic venue that offers an exceptional urban experience. It features views of Barcelona’s skyline, including iconic landmarks such as Montjuïc and La Sagrada Familia in the distance.

The club’s modern and stylish design creates a unique atmosphere. Guests can lounge in comfortable seating areas, enjoy refreshing drinks, and sample various delectable dishes from the rooftop restaurant. With a roster of talented D.J.s, this bar transforms into a nightlife hotspot after dark.

Whether you’re seeking a relaxing daytime retreat or an evening of dancing, you should add this bar to your list. Stop in after spending time at the nearby Greek Theater and Gardens, one of my favorite hidden gems in Barcelona.

Rooftop Bars in Barcelona? I’ll Drink to That!

To say this is a truncated list of rooftop bars in Barcelona would be an understatement. The city has many fantastic rooftop bars, so I suggest you check out as many of them as possible. That is if you have the time since you’ll want to visit all of Barcelona’s hidden gems while you’re there, too!
