This vibrant image depicts a picturesque street in Zurich, Switzerland, lined with colorful buildings and outdoor café tables. The scene includes a green building with the sign "Cantinetta Antinori" and a bright orange building housing "Vero Moda." Flags hang across the street, adding to the lively and charming atmosphere.

I wouldn’t be a good “travel influencer” without talking about some of the most instagrammable places in Zurich. Sometimes, it’s hard to find locations with super aesthetic vibes perfect for the Gram, but Zurich has plenty of them! So, pack your Nikon, Cannon, or just your iPhone, and get ready to take some envy-inducing pictures for your next Instagram post about your vacation in Zurich, Switzerland.

Where To Stay in Zurich

If you want an upscale hotel in the center of everything, then I have to recommend the hotel I stayed at in Zurich. 25hours Hotel Zurich Langstrasse is a tad outside the city center, but it’s still in the middle of all the action, and most importantly, it’s super close to public transit. And honestly, it’s perfect for one day in Zurich because it’s literally IN the name!

Additional perks of this hotel are that it’s pet friendly, has parking, kids stay free, and it even has laundry facilities in case you need to get a load done to avoid a smelly suitcase situation. It’s very modern, and the rooms are uniquely designed. It definitely has the boutique hotel feel without actually being one.

You should always look for accommodations with ease of access to everything you want to see and do, especially if you’re only in your destination for a limited time.

The Most Instagrammable Places in Zurich

10. Umbrella Alley

Without a doubt, this is one of the most instagrammable places in Zurich. It seems like everyone on Instagram always finds an alley with hanging umbrellas, no matter the country. So, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!

This location is one of the best Instagram spots in Zurich for a reason. It’s a trendy place for photo ops underneath the colorful umbrellas stretched across the street with super aesthetic buildings on either side. It might be totally cliche, but I can’t get enough of places like these and will use every opportunity to take all the photos for the gram.

9. Grossmünster

Grossmünster is one of Zurich’s most prominent landmarks, featuring two Romanesque towers boasting some of the best views of the city. Some other impressive features of the church are its intricate stained-glass windows and bronze doors. This place has a bit of history as well, playing a significant role in diffusing the reformation in Swiss-German Switzerland.

If you want to get that perfect Instagram photo from the top of the towers, it won’t be without some sweat and tears. There are a lot of stairs (187 steps, to be exact), so you’ll definitely get a workout in.

8. Mühlesteg

Just like umbrellas that are a thing in many places, the love locks on Mühlesteg footbridge is another classic photo spot that is also found in most cities. The tradition is that people come here and place a lock on the bridge, many with their initials on it.

If you don’t have a lock on hand, you can always get a good shot for Instagram. The backdrop is GORGEOUS, especially at night when all of the building lights reflect on the water. This is one of the most Instagrammable places in Zurich and should not be missed.

7. Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich is iconic and a trendy Instagram spot for good reason. In the summer months, the lake is a popular destination for various water sports, but the main draw is the scenery. It’s an ideal spot to sit back and enjoy the views, either from the shore or on a relaxing boat ride.

If you’re feeling social, the left-hand promenade often features live local music and crowds of listeners. If you’d rather enjoy some peace and quiet, head to the right, and you’ll eventually reach a park where you can set up a picnic or just people-watch.

No matter how you enjoy the lake, you’ll definitely make your Instagram followers jealous with photos capturing eye-popping mountain ranges and serene waters.

6. Münsterhof Square

Münsterhof Platz is a well-known central square in the Old Town whose history goes back to the 13th century, and today, it’s a trendy Instagram spot in Zurich. Many cultural events were held in Münsterhof in the Middle Ages, and echoes of the past still exist to this day with its historic, colorful buildings and cobblestone streets.

It’s these historic touches that make it super cute and very aesthetic, so when you’re in Zurich, pop by this charming square and snap a few selfies.

5. Minster Bridge

The Minster Bridge connects two churches across the Limmat, the Fraumünster and Grossmünster, from photo spot #9. The arched bridge was built in the first half of the 19th century and is one of the oldest surviving bridges in Zurich. Many locals call the popular photo spot the most beautiful bridge on the Limmat River.

The backdrop is the real star of this bridge, though, and the main reason many Instagram travel influencers include it in their itinerary. Backed by impressive buildings and statues, this is a great place to get a very aesthetic European photo.

4. Augustinergasse

Augustinergasse is a medieval alley in the center of Zurich that connects the Augustinerkirche with the Bahnhofstrasse. On this street, you will find historic buildings that are several hundred years old. They are super colorful, with many of them proudly displaying the Swiss flag.

It’s the perfect location to take a photo of yourself among some classic Swiss-style buildings. The grey cobblestone street adds to the overall classic European aesthetic. Also, it’s fun to stop at the many shops and cafes during your photoshoot.

3. Hürlimannbad & Spa Zurich

The Hürlimannbad & Spa Zurich is perfect for relaxing and getting Instagram content that’s sure to go viral. The location of the spa actually used to be a brewery, which is a pretty cool backstory to include in your Instagram posts about this place.

It has a cool, cavelike structure with multiple rooms and a rooftop to hang out on. There are whirlpools, a thermal bath, an herbal steam bath, a meditation bath, and a bistro on site. Plus, there’s an outdoor pool on the roof where you (and your camera lens) will get a unique view of the city. This is the ultimate place to relax while getting some fantastic shots of Zurich.

2. Chinese Garden

Located right by the lake at the Zürichhorn, the Chinese Garden is one of the most unique Instagram spots in Zurich, in my humble opinion.

The garden was a gift from the city’s Chinese partner town of Kunming as thanks for the technical and scientific support provided with expanding drinking water supplies and urban drainage. It’s no surprise then that it’s one of the highest-ranked gardens outside of China!

You’ll find a pond with a small island, Chinese pavilions, and even a small palace on the banks, all perfect for taking amazing Instagram photos.

1. Jules Verne Bar

If you thought I’d finish off this post without mentioning a bar, do you even know me?

I highly suggest you complete your Zurich Instagram tour with some drinks and an epic sunset view from Jules Verne Bar in Uraniastrasse. You’ll get the best panoramic views of Old Town Zurich and beyond while sipping some tantalizing cocktails. You can even see as far as the Alps at this place!

It’s a super classy and lively bar with upscale drinks and a yummy food menu, making it the perfect location in Zurich to cap off your day of taking photos.
